A dedicated (leased) line is simply a direct connection between you and your counterparty via a telecommunications circuit. It is a highly reliable, dedicated business Internet connection, available in speeds ranging from 128kbps up to 1536kbps. The costs will depend on the access circuit charges, which are purely related to distance from the nearest FSMTC point of presence and the Internet bandwidth required. The higher the speed, the greater the cost, which is a fixed monthly rental charge. Dedicated lines are fixed connections which do not involve dialing. They are permanent end to end connections, which means the connection is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and is thus suited to businesses who want permanent connections between their office branches, or who wants a permanent connection to the Internet if they are providing a www server for people to access. The rates below are applicable for the provision of Internet IP data circuit to customers in Pohnpei, Chuuk, Yap, Kosrae, and Ulithi.
