DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for the Support and Maintenance of the Corporation’s Internet services in each FSM state.  The incumbent will provide quality technical support and guidance for solving both hardware and software related problems for the Corporation’s Internet subscribers.  In addition, the incumbent is required to provide technical, application software, and system operational support to FSMTC staff at the State level.  The incumbent reports directly to the respective Vice President-Yap Station, with general guidance and assistance from the Network Operation & Engineering Department.

Provides subscriber orientation, installation, services, and support for the Internet System.  Provides LAN and PC System Software support to both Internet subscribers and FSMTC staff.  Monitor FSMTC’s internal LAN and Internet subscriber systems at the state level; evaluate performance and operational availability on a daily basis.  Conduct periodic maintenance, servicing, installation, and troubleshooting of FSMTC computer and Internet subscriber equipment, including but not limited to: terminals, personal computers, printers, modems, routers, remote access devices, hubs/switches, Internet services, etc.  Develop and maintain a detail knowledge of FSMTC application software and services in order to provide operational assistance and guidance to both subscribers and FSMTC staff.  Provides monthly statistical and summary reports on Internet subscriber installation, trouble reporting and resolution.  Provide after-hours support as needed on a 24-hour basis, particularly for emergency problem resolution.  Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Associate degree in Computer Science with particular emphasis on experienced gained with industry standard personal computer systems, operating systems and application software for the Internet.
