URGENT ANNOUNCEMENT: CHUUK-POHNPEI CABLE SYSTEM TEMPORARY SHUTDOWN
 
FSMT Cable Corporaton (OAE) has informed FSM Telecom that the Chuuk-Pohnpei cable system will be taken out of operation temporarily on November 20 at 7AM Chuuk Time. The reason for this is to conduct testing on the East Micronesia Cable System. They anticipate the testing to take approximately 24 hours. We will update if there are any changes to the schedule.

FSMTC is pleased to announce that our new cell site in Paies, Kitti was successfully commissioned on October 8, 2025. This new site boosts our 2G/3G/4G network coverage in parts of Palikir, College of Micronesia and all of inner Paies, bringing stronger connectivity and better service by improving signal strength and data speeds to these areas.

Pohnpei, Federated States of Micronesia — The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development agency, under the ReConnect Program, has approved a grant of $25 million to the FSM Telecommunications Corporation (FSMTC). This vital funding will enable the expansion of high-speed internet access and target to provide up to 100 Mbps upload and download speeds to both currently served and unserved areas across the islands of Pohnpei, Chuuk, Yap, and Kosrae.
 

Due to additional regulatory costs incurred from TRA (Telecommunication Regulatory Authority), FSM Telecom would like to inform customers of an impending tariff increase on all service charges. Final details of new tariffs will be announced soon.

FSM Telecom wishes to inform all our valued customers that the outage of the Chuuk-Pohnpei Submarine Cable System is caused by FSMT Cable Corporation/OAE’s scheduled system maintenance on the cable.  Although FSMT Cable Corp has implemented an alternative, temporary connectivity path to mitigate any inconvenience caused during this temporary suspension of the Chuuk-Pohnpei cable system, FSM Telecom is doing our best to provide additional backup to help relieve the challenges we are facing since the outage.

The following surplus FSM TELECOMMUNICATIONS properties listed on the attachment hereto is offered for sale by competitive bid on an "as is, where is" basis.

The property set forth may be inspected at the FSMTC locations indicated on the eclosed attachments, between the hours of 8:00am and 5:00pm working days from March 24, 2025 to March 28, 2025.

FSM Telecommunications Corporation (FSMTC) is pleased to welcome its newest Board member, Mr. Smithy Clark, as the representative of Pohnpei State. Clark is currently the Mayor of Pingelap, an atoll located east of Pohnpei island. He has a broad background in the telecom sector, having worked for FSMTC for 19 years as an Outside Plant (OSP) Specialist, assisting with the planning and designing of the outside plant network and leading a team in the installation and maintenance of the copper and fiber network.
